Fire crews called to car fire

Yesterday (December 12) fire crews were called to reports a car fire on Stoney Road, Onchan.

The service said that upon arrival crews were met with a car that was well alight.

The Incident Commander quickly dispatched a breathing apparatus team who extinguished the fire using a high pressure hose reel before it could spread to nearby vehicles.

Thankfully no one was hurt or injured and crews were in attendance for around 45 minutes.
