Community meeting for an energy hub in Andreas being held tonight

A community consultation is being held this evening (November 29) regarding the potential for a renewable energy generation hub at Andreas Airfield.

The company, IPV Flexgen is working with the landowners of Andreas Airfield and evaluating the potential for a generation hub that could produce up to 25% of the electricity required by the Isle of Man.

The proposed privately funded project would incorporate a mix of renewable energy technologies to provide greater levels of daily power availability and grid stability. The technologies under consideration are:

  • Anaerobic Digestion (AD)
  • Ground-Mounted Solar Photovoltaics (Solar PV)
  • On shore Wind Technology
  • Battery Storage

The meeting will be a chance for members of the community to engage with IPV Flexgen and the landowners of Andreas Airfield.

The community meeting will be held at Andreas Community Hall at 7:30pm.
