The Islands only rugby club to run a ladies team are now opening its doors to younger female members.
Vagabonds RUFC is hosting an Allianz Inner Warrior Girls Rugby Camp for young girls aged 11-17.
It will be held at the club’s Ballafletcher Sports Ground on Saturday (October 21) from 10am – 11:15am.
The event has been organised by the Vagas’ Ladies team and coaches and will be followed by cake at the clubhouse.
Following the camp, the club will begin training sessions for girls aged 11-16 each Sunday afternoon (from October 29) between 1-2pm.
Leona McGovern, current Ladies Captain said: “This year we are celebrating 25 years of Vagabonds Ladies and, as a community club, it's imperative to maintain the progression of new female players taking part and, most importantly, enjoying rugby!
“We are proud to be the only ladies team on island and hope the start of regular girls training sessions will encourage more young people to give rugby a go.”
