This year’s Budget will have an impact on local authorities in ‘indirect ways’.

 

That’s the view of a Ramsey Commissioner who says the effect of it won’t be felt until ‘further down the line’.

 

The Treasury Minister has indicated government departments will need to find savings, but Juan McGuinness claims this will leave authorities with tasks they were previously ‘reliant’ on government carrying out.

 

He says the ‘decentralisation’ approach means rates will have to go up:
