Police investigation launched after damage to gas tanks

An investigation has been launched after an incident at the gas storage site in Douglas last night.

Emergency services were called to the site at Princess Alexandra Pier following reports of smoke.

On arrival it was found that the ‘smoke’ was water spray from the emergency deluge fire fighting system had been activated due to third party damage.

Police are currently investigating and some individuals found in the vicinity are helping them with their enquiries.
