UPDATED: Armed police response following 'threatening message'

Armed police were deployed to Douglas Town Centre earlier after a threatening message that had been passed on to them.

As a result Officers, including armed units, were deployed to the area of Strand Street.

In a statement, Isle of Man Constabulary said: "The public were asked to avoid the area. These actions were taken as a precautionary measure whilst the threat was assessed."

Investigations are ongoing.
